Bird-watchning is the key activity in the ornithologic park of Le Teich city.
Le "bird-watching" est l'activité phare du parc ornithologique du Teich.
What is less known is that another activity in this park is the "mammalian-watching", one of the favourite activities of birds.
Ce que l'on sait moins, c'est que c'est dans ce parc qu'est né et se développe... le "mammalian-watching".
However, our friends the geese are also practicing the bird-watching.

In this park, the kingfisher enjoys to play the star. Some weeks ago, only the rich owners of 500mm zooms and geese were allowed to observe him. More recently, he accepted to come close enough for the owners of 300mm and then 200mm. He also came very close to a very noisy school children group so that children draw him on their notebook. The owners of 500mm were angry because they were not alone to get good pictures. Now, the kingfisher takes himself for an movie actor.
Au parc ornithologique du Teich, le martin-pêcheur aime de plus en plus se faire remarquer. Il y a quelques semaines, il réservait ses exhibitions pour les oies et les riches possesseurs d'objectifs de 500 mm et plus. Récemment, il acceptait de s'approcher pour les 300 mm puis 200 mm et a même poussé le vice jusqu'à s'approcher pendant le passage d'une classe d'élèves bruyants, prenant la pose pour se laisser dessiner. Les possesseurs de 500 mm fulminaient à l'idée de ne plus détenir le scoop du poisson dans le bec. Cela ne suffisait pas à notre ami Martin, qui après avoir joué la star se prend maintenant pour un acteur.

We know that ornithologists are passionated scientists. In the ornithologic park, it is over imagination. Since stork are not arrived (we are at the beginning of February, you can see one of their nest in the left), an ornithologist tries to sit on eggs in order to better understand bird psychology (picture 1). Then he studies the direction of the wind to plan his takeoff (picture 2). Unfortunately it was 6 p.m. and the park was on the point to close. I could not wait the takeoff of the ornithologist. This would have given one of the best pictures of this website.
On savait que les ornithologues étaient des gens passionnés. Au parc ornithologique du Teich cette passion dépasse l'imaginable. Les ornithologues poussent "l'empathie du naturaliste" a son extrème :
Alors que les cygognes ne sont pas encore arrivées (nous sommes début février, on voit un nid de cygogne vide sur la gauche), un ornithologue, pour mieux comprendre la psychologie oiseline, tente de couver des oeufs (photo 1) et étudie le sens du vent pour plannifier son envol (photo 2). Hélas, en raison de la fermeture du parc (il était près de 18 h) je n'ai pas pu attendre l'envol de l'ornithologue.
